just got a msg to clarify my mistake
President Duffett tells me 440, not 1440 were the number of diamonds from the four tonne sample.
She went on to say that 60 tonnes, not 50 were taken from the kimberlite pipe on the Lapointe property.
Samples to be sent shortly.....[got that right]
so the math lesson goes like this
4tonnes divided by 440 + 110 diamonds/tonne
multiply X 60
works out to over six thousand diamonds.
if one in 6 are macro diamond , that still is a robust one thousand commercial gems over .5mm in size
