Torch re-lights Red Bird moly property
by Thomas Schuster
Growing demand for steel – especially from developing economies in China and India –
and the skyrocketing price of molybdenum has prompted Torch River Resources Ltd.
[TCR-TSXV] to take a close look at the old Red Bird molybdenum porphyry deposit
in west-central British Columbia. The Red Bird project consists of three
claims totalling 1,256 hectares situated 133 kilometres southwest of Burns Lake and
105 kilometres north of Bella Coola. Access to the property is via float plane in June
through October and by helicopter in the winter. Parts of the Red Bird claims are
truncated by the boundary of Tweedsmuir Park. This park is designated a protected
area and thus, is off limits to all industrial activities including mineral exploration
and development.
