I would guess that this may show that paper gold may outweight physical gold. The problem of paper gold would surely be recognized if all the owners were to take physical reciept of their gold. Most likely the paper gold outstrips the physical in many multiples, IMO.
Sprott, (I think it was Eric), has a good idea for the large silver producers, hold their extra cash in their treasury in silver until revenue was needed and then sell restricted quanities to physical brokers.. This would limit the supply on the market and could outstrip inflation in later years.
We see smaller pieces of gold being able to be purchased through different venues which will most likely lead to more physical gold being held, which in turn should support the POG.
