Mr. James G. Matkin, BA, LLB, LLM, has been Company Secretary and Counsel of Hydrogen Power Inc.(formerly, ydrogen Power International Inc.) since April 5, 2007 and January 2, 2007 respectively. Mr. Matkin serves as Executive Director of Law Society Of British Columbia The. Mr. Matkin has extensive experience in law, government and business. Mr. Matkin served as Corporate Secretary of Instream Energy Systems Corp. since March 2010. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Law Society of British Columbia from 1998 to 2005. He began his legal career on Wall Street in New York City before clerking with Mr. Justice Martland of the Supreme Court of Canada. He served as President of the Business Council of British Columbia for 10 years from 1983 to 1993 and has represented more than 150 of the largest companies in Canada in their business-government relations. He serves as Member of International Advisory Council at Recipco Holdings Ltd. He served as Executive Chairman of Hydrogen Power Inc.(formerly Hydrogen Power International Inc.) until March 2006. Mr. Matkin served as Founding Chairman and Director of a new CLEC telephone venture that became a public company on the NASDAQ big board and the Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr. Matkin also serves as a Director of Global Hydrofuel Technologies Inc. He served as Director of Instream Energy Systems Corp. since March 2010. He served as a Director of Bank of Canada from 1992 to 1995, ITT Canada from 1990 and the British Columbia Workers Compensation Board from 1990 to 1993. He served as Director at Hydrogen Power Inc. Mr. Matkin served as a Director of GT Group Telecom Inc. from 1997 to 2002. Mr. Matkin serves on the boards of several public and private organizations, including the Provincial Chair of the Council for Canadian Unity. He is a lawyer by education. Mr. Matkin served in the BC government ministries of Labour and Intergovernmental Affairs from 1972 to 1983. Mr. Matkin obtained a Master of Laws from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta. He holds bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta.
