I suggest perhaps that all things are possible. Here is one guy that had troubles. If I remember correctly, I believe he suspected Barrick of doing this, in relation to the Pascua Lama project. There was confidential information getting out that led to him realizing something was up with his emails, and also when he was sending important emails, they were being intercepted and did not arrive at their destination. Sophisticated, or slightly, criminals will do this as a means to disrupt communication, welcome to the real world where most of the populace are oblivious to how things really work when big money is involved.
