Significant mineralized intervals
from the trenching include 1.9 g/t Au over 16.5 metres within trench
four and 1.5 g/t Au over 15 metres within trench three. There is also a
considerable halo of altered volcanic rock that runs in the 0.1-g/t-to-
0.5-g/t-Au range, and includes 0.33 g/t Au over 92 metres and 0.57
g/t Au over 39 metres. The easternmost significant showing (to date)
is Prospecto Yaku located approximately 800 metres to the east of
Prospecto Sabado. In trench 22, four significant assay intervals were
obtained in brecciated volcanic complex hosted red-hued tuffs (lower
series). These were 1.1 g/t Au over five metres, 1.6 g/t Au over four
metres, 1.9 g/t Au over five metres and 0.33 g/t Au over 11 metres.
The entire trench returned 0.27 g/t Au over 91 metres.
Between the two above-mentioned prospects, approximately 15
trenches have been excavated in the lower series, and most have
intersected anomalous gold values associated with quartz veins,
veinlettes/swarms and hydro-breccias. Three trenches intersected
five, 20-centimetre-wide bonanza-style veins that ran between five 54
g/t Au. Abundant visible gold is present in these veins. Other
trenches uncovered hydro-breccias carrying 0.25 g/t to 1.1 g/t Au
across intervals of between two metres to 20 metres.
