Think Again.
I was directed to this by a good friend and fellow shareholder.
Look what the Italians have acheived that are sick of the way things are run. Look how many votes Grillo and his Five Star Movement received from the people and how its got analysts and everybody looking. These people stood up. Here are a couple excerpts taken from the full article ;
the Five-Star Movement, has built on the public’s disenchantment with parliamentary politics in its bid to regenerate the political landscape.
The result is sending shock waves across the eurozone and is baffling political analysts worldwide.
Is public support growing to leave the euro and possibly default on Italy’s debts?
The Five-Star Movement has continued to focus on issues such as the environment and the fight against corruption.
It also advocates modernization of the country’s digital infrastructure and greater media accountability.
Grillo and his supporters now hold the balance of power.
While its language is uncompromising, Five-Star’s agenda is reformist, not radical. The movement has attracted a disaffected generation of workers, teachers, small entrepreneurs and the educated underemployed — hardly a cadre of traditional extremist elements. They claim that their model of participatory mobilization based on social media and face-to-face “meet ups” will infect other European countries currently in thrall to entrenched corporate and political interests.
Its aim is nothing less than a more participatory democracy and a fundamental change in Italian political culture.
