Here is how your MLA,s come into the picture, I will use Doug Horner as an example of his duties.
Accountability for securities regulation extends from the securities regulator to the Minister responsible for securities regulation and, ultimately, the legislature, in each province.

Doug Horner, the MLA for Spruce Grove is a member of the Alberta Legislature.

This is part of Doug Horners job description;
Therefore at different ridings across a province representatives (MPPs, MLA's etc) are elected to represent and make decisions on behalf of the people that live in that riding.

So, to sum it up, politicians cannot pass the buck on this. There is a huge problem when a 91% vote can be tossed over a CEO,s shoulder as not counting. Its ridiculous, the shareholders have spoken. A market cannot function or exist in this manner. Its become very evident how disfunctional the Canadian markets are and there is probably no reason for any investor to invest, when his/her voice is heard by no one.
Doug Horner has received letters from SLI shareholders as well as more MLA,S all over this country, replies from some of these, say to contact the securities commission and fail to recognize the problem that the securities are not acting. There appears to be just a passing of the buck, while 1000,s of investors in this stock sit helplessly and watch a CEO and BOD severly deplete their investments treasury on naive law suits, INSTEAD OF HANDING THE COMPANY OVER TO THE RIGHTFUL OWNERS, THE SHAREHOLDERS.
A little song incase someone is actually in any of the offices of the regulators, authorities or politicians. For your listening pleasure while 1000, s of investors sit here and watch whats left of over $200 million worth of investment disappear.
