a little better look at the A-4 vein
Keep in mind these are back of the napkin calculations and that with testing, the calcs good be proven lower, or much higher. Nevertheless, I think looking at just this one vein, surely shows the potential of the Tesoro.
I used Brophy,s little formula to come up with these numbers and it is unscaled unlike BOW,s formula for the anomalies. But I am focusing right on the A-4 vein here itself and keep in mind, these are rough numbers just to get an idea.The formula used, goes like this;
length x width x depth x density(2.75)= tonnage
Then roughly I calculate grams to ounces to determine total ounces.
OK, by going through old reports of the A-4 vein, I get a length of 680m. There are photos of this vein from various levels, especially one Hog and I saw at the Halifax B&B that makes the A-4 vein look like its closer to 2 m where that photo was taken at depth, but I will use 1m wide for now. I will use average gold grade of .75 ounces as that seems to be the average grade of that vein from known data prior to 2010. So lets go with those numbers for now.
680m x 1m x 100m x 2.75 =187000 tonnes
187000tonnes x .75 ounces per ton = 140,250 ounces of gold.
BUT, by looking at hole number 6, I wouldn,t doubt that hole hit the A-4 under the over burden extending North to the C-1 vein. There is an intercept in that hole around the 112 m mark around 23 g/t and the width of that looks like it fits the A-4. And, hole #6 looks like it would be around 200 m beyond the 680m the vein could have been measured at, because it goes under the overburden. To the South, I would say, and I see Brophy hypothesizing the same earlier, the A-4 is displaced and continues on South ward to what looks to me as far south as the 3250m slide. They have the vein marked on each individual slide in the Tech report, so you can pretty much follow it as you flip through one slide to the next. If this is the case, we are probably talking about the A-4 vein being around 2.5 km for sure.
Now looking at the depth thing. We have gone down to 100m depth on the A-4 with the mine shaft and I believe the grades were a little better deeper than what I am using, but I will stick with the .75 for consistency. When looking at the Quantec geophysics, it implies the vein structure getting wider around the 100m level then starting to go crazy on width around 200m depth and beyond as it hooks up to the big anomaly. We are most likely following the A-7 alteration as to whats giving the signature near surface, because individual mineralized veins of less than ~5m are hard to see on this scale of the poles. Remember, Quantec is used to find ore bodies/ deposits mostly, not for individual veins.
Mesothermal systems run deep and Dynacors geology tells us that our veins would hold consistent grade down to 1000m, and theres more, but I won,t get into that here. So here are some numbers to plug into the equation again.
Lets say its 1 km long and lets say its 1 km deep and lets say its 1m uniform wide.
1000m x 1000m x 1m x 2.75 = 2750000 tonnes x .75 ounces per ton gold = 2,062500 ounces in the one vein.
Lets do another one, but with only 500m depth, but use the 2.5 km length that seems to be there.
2500m x 500m x 1m x 2.75 =3437500 tonnes x .75 ounces per ton gold = 2,578125 ounces of gold.
See, and the thing is, I didn,t have to use the Quantec to get that number, the Quantec only seems to reinforce this number, and actually would make it many multiples more, then you have to use BOW,s calculations.
And remember, thats only one vein out of 50 plus on the property, and is not factoring in any anomalies. With 40 some drill holes, Lori could have proven up that one vein to give us a resource estimate of the one vein, but she didn,t focus on this one vein and seemed to keep on targeting the smaller anomalies and didn,t drill very much of the KNOWN veins.
To give you a quick estimate how much 2 million ounces in an estimate would have valued our stock price at on an offer, around $6-8 per share on that vein alone. If you go by what Extorre just got bought out for or offered in comparrison to us.
This is why I hate doing DD and am sick of it, I come back to the same place, or better. Its so much easier just to say there is lots of gold there and enough for us.
Everyone have a beautiful day!
