One of my pet research projects has been Argentina and Barrick's involvement in it. Of course most of us know that Pascua Lama is Barrick's flagship property. It is and has been my belief that this project is and has been in trouble for quite sometime, for various reasons. Barrick's most recent NR confirms this, in my mind...

To top it off, Venezuela has now formally entered the Mercosur trade block and Argentina and Venezuela have also signed a cooperation agreement on oil and gas exploration. I am sure that Argentina will soon be enacting it's own Gold Law, much the same as Venezuela did about a year ago...

The question now begs to be asked, how does this affect SLI? Barrick needs gold deposits in South America and SLI's deposits are in mine friendly Peru...
