As I was reading this article, it made me realize how little information we know about the way things really are in these regions. Speaking for myself, I tend to focus mostly on share price, etc. , without really taking into consideration the background details of the overall operation of a project of this scope, in a country such as Peru. So many issues that have to be dealt with in hopefully such a way that benefits the local people and not just given lip service to promote positive press. Too many times in present and past history, the focus is zoomed in to strictly " maximizing profits ", raping the region of resources then when those resources are gone, leaving someone else holding the bag - a " screw you " mentality.
