Tom, when MM,s are present, there is continuous bids/asks from them. Its part of what they do, provide liquidity. If these asks are by MM,s, you can be rest assured that these asks will be pulled upon good news, as they like/need to make money also. They are a function of the market and are needed to make it work properly.
