The Informales Area now belong to St Elias.

Sculpin, you may recall your post below from awhile ago; unfortunately I wasn't able to paste my picture of the Dynacor location besides the Acari River . Note the steepness of the terrain leading up to Tesoro. It is from this location that you can view the gold bearing strata in Dynacor's different sections as you look up the mountainside.

Unfortunately I don't have copies of Hog's great pictures of that whole area and it is no longer possible to retrieve them under Hogtown 6.

When Iced and I, with our oxygen tanks strapped on our backs, visit Tesoro from the HMCS St Elias whirlybird we will be able to see this firsthand!

Note this excerpt "and some geological observations lead us to believe that it may cover more than 1.2 kilometres".Also the vein is located in a shear zone more than 4 m in width in places.

1996 Dynacor news release

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 1996-- DYNACOR MINES(ME DYN. ) Mines Dynacor confirmed that the Carnero and Principale veins on its Acari property in Peru have high levels of gold content.

Sampling has yielded results similar to those previously obtained by our Peruvian partners. The two veins have always been mined on a small scale, at the surface or in drifts, and over short distances. In 1995, Acari produced 5,500 ounces with an average grade of 32g/t Au (0.93 oz/t Au).

Prospectors have panned for gold at the surface of these veins since pre-Columbian times-a fact that indicates excellent potential for the discovery of other veins. Because of the processing methods used, gold washers of the past were unable to recover more than 50 percent of the gold in the ore extracted, and ore grading less than 17 g/t Au (0.5 oz/st Au) was rejected. GEOLOGY

The Carnero vein has an orientation of 1350 and dips almost vertically to the west. Its width reaches 2 metres in some places, and its elevation ranges from 900 to 1,450 metres above sea level.

Carnero has been identified visually over nearly 1,200 metres, and some geological observations lead us to believe that it may cover more than 1.2 kilometres. Some of the samples taken have graded from 26.96 g/t Au (0.78 oz/t Au) to 143.5 g/t Au (4.16 oz/t Au)(1).

The Principale vein can be seen to run continuously over a distance of 1,200 metres and has a total length of more than 4 kilometres. This formation, which contains several veins and veinlets, measures up to 1.5 metres in width. The Principale vein is located in a shear zone more than 4 metres wide in places.

Twenty-one samples were taken systematically at one-meter intervals at Level 2 along the width of the Principal vein, yielding an average of 42.79 g/t Au oz/st Au). These results corroborate to support or enhance the believability of a fact or assertion by the presentation of additional information that confirms the truthfulness of the item.

The testimony of a witness is corroborated if subsequent evidence, such as a coroner's report or the testimony of other the bulk sampling of 1,200 tons for metallurgical purposes in 1995, when an average grade of 32 g/t Au (0.93 oz/st Au) was indicated".
