Keep in mind, the opinions on this site are for the most part speculation and are not necessarily the opinions of the company WITHOUT PREJUDICE
Max I am not attacking anyone, just commenting on what was written on this forum. Here is some logic behind what I am saying. If the majority of investors in SLI are retail investors and not Institutions, then obviously Lori knows this. There is a reason why Lori does not want Institutions buying into SLI. The reason, she loses more control, they demand certain things and if she doesn't deliver then they have the power to punish her and her company. There is a method to her maddness of wanting only retail investors. An institution can hold millions of shares, retail investors if they are lucky own a couple hundred thousand. Lori is not dumb, a couple million shares vs a couple hundred thousand shares who has more power for making demands on what is going on. When retail investors are involved Lori knows that it is easier to have many small shareholders vs 4 or 5 larges ones because as a group we are divided more and are therefore not as cohesive an entity. Lori was I think shocked by the fact that so many small retail investors voted down the options at the AGM, this she did not expect to happen, for the very reasons I mentioned above, hard to get everyone on the same page and vote the same, but that is exactly what happenned. The reason why Murray has been having all these B and B's is to attract more retail investors, not institutions, he could easliy meet with all institutional groups Cannaccord, Blackrock, Scotia-Mcleod, RBC, TD Waterhouse, etc, but they require you to have some substance to your presentation. Why or what does Goldenboy know, I used to be the IR guy who met with Institutions and try to pitch Jr. companies, believe it is not easy and especially not easy when you have no substance to bring to the table. Retail investors overall are proabably less sophisticated in their investment knowledge and therefore are easier to pitch a story to. Trust me, if we were heavily invested with Institutions right now we would be in a pile of trouble, they don't put up with what retail SLI investors have been putting up with!!! Lori was a broker she knows what investors are easier to handle, she just never estimated that SLI investors would turn out to be so united in our beliefs and demands.
