So, Lori is quoted in an article by a columnist of MarketWatch. Here is a liitle about the columnist, below;
Myra P. Saefong, assistant global markets editor, has covered the commodities sector for MarketWatch for more than 10 years. She spent the bulk of her years at the company writing the daily Futures Movers and Metals Stocks columns and has been writing the weekly Commodities Corner column since 2005. Following her move to Tokyo in 2009, she continues to write her weekly column and has expanded her coverage to include Asian markets.
Here is Lori,s qoutes;
But the prospects don’t rest exclusively on the big gold miners. Investing in junior exploration companies has advantages too, especially if investors are betting on higher prices for gold.
“Investors are attracted to junior mining companies because they present the possibility to go to the moon overnight and reap astronomical multiples,” said Lori McClenahan, president and chief executive officer at junior exploration company St. Elias Mines Ltd. /quotes/zigman/173794 CA:SLI -1.89%
“Investing in a big mining company is less risky, but you can’t get the same return on your investment,” she said. By investing in a junior mining “investors give up the safety for the possibility of higher returns.”
I would assume Myra just happened to meet Lori at some recent convention and got a little input from a junior for this article. The chances of getting Lori,s quote while Myra was talking to big reputable miners and commodities traders, might suggest that Lori was right in the vicinity of these big league players. That may be interesting in itself or could just be coincidence.
To hang on Lori,s words again, her quote of ,“Investors are attracted to junior mining companies because they present the possibility to go to the moon overnight and reap astronomical multiples,”, could be percieved as a general comment OR we can be speculative, and think maybe she is implying what might happen to us. I beleive we can think of this comment in conjunction with her Forbes interview, and remember her comment on that interview about hanging around the "old boys club" (I beleive that was her terminology).
I am gonna go way out on a limb here in the next part of this post. I notice Sandstorm mentioned in this article. This is a small start up company/s listed on the Venture, nevertheless, their management is very reputable and there are 2 connected entities.I will put the links for both of these companies at the end of this post.
It was mentioned that we would be trenching,drilling and maybe some smallscale mining all at the same time this past summer. I interpreted the small scale mining as meaning , taking multiple bulk samples from maybe new found veins and didn,t give it more thought til now. Khersons Royalty thing sticks in my head and is interesting when you look at what Sandstorm does. Also, remember that 1 sample taken from the surface of the newly found N-1 vein yeilded 2.5 oz/t, this vein could have been uncovered further during trenching and possibly it is being surface mined.
Hog and I were looking at some numbers the other night and if you have 1 small truck hauling 40 tons of that kind of grade, at $1600 an ounce, you have $160,000 worth of gold. If you take 10 truckloads of that grade off there, you have $1.6 million bucks gross. In other words, a money making machine. What if the trenching uncovered a higher grade vein yet, and it has been mined? Are you getting the magnitude of what I may be saying?
Now enter Sandstorm, read what they do, and although a puny company, draw your own conclusions. It would cost us to do this mining, but maybe enter these guys for some small financing based on a different concept,and bingo, quick money to dig out near surface bonanza,s for millions of dollars, until an offer comes. If an offer doesn,t come, keep mining with very impressive revenues coming in ,cashing up the treasury, without further share dilution and giving us the cash to prove up more of our properties. And you can bet you, once a major see,s the amount of dollars they are missing, they may opt to make an offer.
