off the top of my head I can think of 4 in recent years in Canada's North. Dia Met Minerals bought by BHP, Aber Resources bought by Rio Tinto, Cumberland Resources bought by Agnico Eagle and Mirimar Mining bought by Newmont mining. So it does happen. I know it's hard to believe it can ever happen to us but all the evidence says its going to.
