I have just been looking at the topography map on the website and the google earth image of the Gold Summit property. As someone mentioned here, it is properly named. It is a small summit, but what I find more intriguing at this time is; the anomalous gold found is on top, so this means, the source is very close to being directly below or at the very top of the summit.Either way, we own the summit and the gold is there, the trick is, is it economical?
The geophysics has produced an anomaly, but it doesn,t appear to be the right signature. But by looking at it, I beleive the anomaly must be related directly to the source. You are at the very top of a small mountain/hill, that the top was either shaved off at one time, or its an ancient volcano. There is a covering of ash over the property, so both could be possibilities or a combination of both. Alluvial gold does not go up hill, so it had to come from the top. Its possible it was spewed out from an ancient eruption, or just erosion over millenia spread it down hill. There were a couple high grade veins uncovered there in recent years by trenching, and this is also identified as a mesothermal system, similar in nature to the Tesoro. Plate Tectonics, volcanism and hydrothemal fluids that originated BELOW the earths crust come into play here, the same as the Tesoro. I don,t expect the grades here to be as good as the Tesoro, but still economic.
To get high grades at the top of the summit in the undesturbed veins and knowing this is a mesothermal system, would get any geo excited. This property has the right ingredients for it to be a mine on its own . Although much work has to be done on it yet, common sense will tell you its worth it. I would like to see Quantec do a full monty on it for us. That way you could see where to shaft mine it from going in from the side of the mountain on the high grade leads that the Quantec has a good chance identifying. Also, the depth qualifications of the Quantec,s Titan would play a very important part at looking deeper to coordinate a tunnel. There doesnt appear to be any faults or fractures to follow here, at least in my preliminary research, this makes it a little more difficult to place the conduit/s and is why the Titan is needed.
I mentioned above shaft mining, open pit could be a possibility in the future when the source is located and if the mineralization is spred out enough at economical grades. In other words, take the top of the summit off after you have taken most of the high grade through shaft mining. Target the most likely source deep in the mountain as revealed by a Titan because this will be your highest grade stuff and would give the biggest bang for your buck early in the game.
The couple grades in the veins near the top of the mountain were impressive to me and is indicative of a richer source below. These veins by being there, rules out the ancient volcano as being the only source of the anomolous gold. Its possible an ancient eruption deposited some of the gold on the surface, but most likely not it all. The eruption could have had gold in it, if it did, this would help validate if the gold extends to considerable depths. I should add, that where this is a summit, traditional shaft mining costs would be lower here because you could have several entrances/exits targeting the high grade on a shallower incline.
