Well I guess really its nothing new. I have said here before that one of the signs that we may be a target, was a spinout. This more confirms that a spinout could be considered a defencive act by a company if they think they are a target.
IMO, there are a few more pieces in that link that could fit in to the bigger picture with us.
I was trying to find how a spin out would play in a buyout situation and if the intent of a spinout would be considered as an ongoing transaction that would not be affected should an offer comes before it is finalized. I havent really found that answer yet.
