Good call Tom!
I don,t beleive gold is gonna drop much, IMO, there appears to be much foreign buying on the dips. This buying seems like its getting stronger and is countering any manipulation/local selling. I beleive the only reason gold took the dip today, was because of the margin calls where the equity market took a beating, they were forced to sell part of their gold positions.
IMO, interest rates cannot stay down much longer, there is too much financial income at risk. If the banks slip a knotch or two, this will drive the markets down more, and the POG will still go higher.
As for SLI, it has very strong shareholders, and today just verified that again. It looks to me as well that it may be a safe haven, as others have mentioned here.
IMO, if markets do get uglier, SLI may be able to weather the storm. I say this because of the perceived potential resource, the POG going higher, and most recently where I have seen banks buying the gold while its still in the ground. That last one, IMO has just made our stock a lot stronger. We have the drilling going or starting shortly and should have something proven in a few months. It doesn,t matter if the market tumbles in that time, because we are proving up a coveted commodity, that really has no choice but to appreciate in value. Our Tesoro value should increase in this time frame, even if our sp falls a bit. Imo, if the sp fell to $1, it would have nothing to do with a buyout price, the value of the Tesoro will dictate that buyout price, no matter what the sp is. The fact that I have mentioned before, we are so strong by not giving up our shares, that by now, we must have a huge majority of them in safe hands. This will help us get FMV (fair market value) when the time comes.
This is all in my own opinion, and to each, his/her own.
