The POG may just keep going up. The majors still have to replenish their reserves and with the POG constantly rising, will this make some majors to start making aquisitions before it gets too high? I mean it only makes sense, for the majors to start buying deposits at this POG rather than wait til it hits $2000.
The price paid per ounce in the ground on some recent buyouts has been astronomical, surely as of late, that price must have risen with the POG. I am guessing that the next significant dip on the POG (if there is one) will prompt offers for juniors, increasing the M&A activity at that time.
IMO, it would be easier for majors to get approval from their shareholders now on aquisitions, rather than wait til it hits $2000.
