NowWhat, Thanks for the link.
Peruvian mining company Buenaventura and a US company, Newmont, will team up to make the largest investment ever in a single Peruvian mining project.
The Congas mines, located in Cajamarca, will begin production in late 2014 or 2015 according to Gestión. The mines are expected to yield between 560 million and 680 million ounces of gold in its first five years of production. On top of that, the mine is supposed to yield between 155 and 255 million lbs. of copper. The mine is expected to last nineteen years.
Newmont has a 51% stake in the project, while Buenaventura is the biggest producer of precious metals in Peru.

Of note to all, Cajamarca is just north of our Vilcoro.
Since then I ran the numbers through my does this make sense filter, and of course it does not! Someone slipped several decimal places. Anyway the published reserve is 6.1 million oz.

So I dare say, Tesoro could still pan out to be the biggest mine.
