The economist also defended the right of his party to closely observe economic indicators in order to fulfill what has been promised during the electoral campaign.

This way, Iguiñiz said that they need to evaluate how the Peruvian economy evolves during the third quarter of the year in order to properly implement the reforms and the social programs that have been proposed.

“There is no doubt we will start carrying out social programs. We need to see how the economic situation evolves. We are not going to do anything irresponsible. We will work with what we have at the moment, ensuring without doubt the economic stability,” he said.

When asked about the economic indicators that the next government will receive, Iguiñiz said there were “figures for all tastes” which shows that Peru has been growing.
