Here is a post copied from another board. The guy is talking about a stock he has that is currently trading at $1.50. There are people shorting the stock he owns. I dont know if his idea works, but I was thinking if we all did that, we may get rid of some of the shorters on SLI. I have heard this said before about not being able to borrow stock to short with, if its for sale. I would like to know more about this!
brokerage houses I trade with. The broker asked me why I put such a large block of shares up for sale at such a high price. So I told him, " I know your house lends paper out to shorters, this will stop you from lending my paper" His comment was we don't lend paper to shorters. I said you are full of crap because I know people that borrow shares from your house and if you keep it up I will pull my accounts. He then tranfered me to the accouts manager because of the size of the accounts. Enough said. The point is put you paper up for sale at 20+ dollars then they can't lend your paper.
