I took a look at this offer from Barrick and I believe that it is now a done deal. RBC is providing $4 billion of bridge financing for this. This in itself is interesting...

Here is my take on this, Lundin wanted to buy Equinox, but Barrick won out. It looks like Equinox has Saudi Arabia and Zambia locked up for future exploration and mining. Equinox has some very interesting gold exploration plays in both countries. I bet that Barrick keeps the gold properties and sells the copper projects to someone else, maybe even Lundin...
