Hey Bart, the direction of flow usually can be told by a few things. The strike helps, this is the direction by the compass, if you follow the strike sometimes, you can see veins pinching out to nothing. That usually tells you your source is behind you, but you cant use this alone. The dip of the vein is also considered, this is the angle parallel to the vein going to depths. The width of your veins, most of the time they will get wider closer to their source. Faults, dykes, trends and surface structures will also help to find direction. The angle by which a secondary vein branches off from the primary one is one of the best clues.
You ask;
Did gold on Dynacors property come from the direction of the Tesoro and does the gold in the veins south of the property come from the direction of the Tesoro.
I would say NO, the veins from Dynacor and the San Juan Complex to our south, appear to have come up from below. There is a slight chance that a couple did, but it would be more likely for the San Juan Complex. There are many faults in the area and when there is movement of the earth, things get moved a bit over time. A trend that was all one at one time, could be broken and offset for sometimes up to 1 km. By studying the area and by what Hog showed you, we are all part of the same trend. You can follow certain veins and breccia and see the structures all connecting.
The source for Dynacors and San Juans veins is most likely below. The dip of the veins will tell you this. They are very steep and run to considerable depths, telling me that the Earth opened up to let this elongated mineralization to fill the gap north and south from below. But, I will say, with our grades seeming to be higher in the middle, that its possible, Tesoro is the main source.The Tesoro could be a huge pluton also, that came up from depth and mushroomed out .As far as I know, there has been no geophysics done on the Dynacor and San Juan properties, but there is excellent chances that they also have huge anomalies at depth. See, they are getting enough gold at or near the surface there, that they dont care whats below right now, and may wait for years to find out. With us its different, we want to prove it up and sell it off quick( i hope), thats why we used the geophysics and are gonna be the first to ever drill deep in the area.
So, the veins look as if they may all be part of one system, and we may just be on the highest grade part of it. Think of a spider, the body being the Tesoro and the legs being Dynacor and San Juan, it could work that way too.
I hope you understand what I am saying, I am not very good at explaining things. Hog,s got a better way of explaining things than I, and maybe he can simplify this.
