Keep in mind, the opinions on this site are for the most part speculation and are not necessarily the opinions of the company WITHOUT PREJUDICE
I asked the same question, "why".I found the same thing, few details by the companies that used Quantec. The companies however, say they are pleased with the geophysics. The fact that some of the same companies use it over, should speak for its self. Its not designed for finding gold, hence not many companies use it to find gold. But in our case, the Tesoro is pretty unique, whereas there are numerous structures, massive sulfides and extreme resitivity. There are many strong pathfinders on the Tesoro that make it easy to use the Quantec here. In a lot of places when looking for gold, the geophysics may not be of much use. For example; here in N.S. there are some quartz veins you could get 3g/t gold out of, but there are too little other elements for the Quantec to get a good reading. That leaves you with too much doubt, so in that case I would consider it ineffective. However, on one of my claims I am thinking about trying it this summer because there appears to be sufficient sulfides that I should be able to get a good picture for a one targeted drill hole. But I am not looking for gold alone on this property.
A couple of my thoughts were;
Maybe the users dont want to give all the info out publicly, because of companies with properties beside them.The geophysical info is costly and important in spotting trends and I know I wouldn,t be freely handing info over to my neighbour. I know that if I was not for sale, I wouldn,t reveal all my cards if I didn,t want to be noticed. Also, IMO , the full Quantec appears pretty revealing, so maybe a company would like to keep some suprises hidden for their investors down the road. If they show everything they got at once, the stock may set at an sp for years or be bought out quickly, in which neither is the wishes of the executive.
I spent many hours looking for a gold company for a direct comparison. I found 1, Northern Tiger Resources. They used Quantec on their Sonora Gulch property, although looking to better their copper resource, they had their highest gold intercept as a result of the Quantec. They drilled 2 holes that Quantec recommended, one hole exactly where Quantec said to drill, the other they couldn,t quite get it collared where Quantec said. The exact hole had the properties best gold intercept to date, while the latter hit, but not as impressive due to not being right on the target.
So, you can check out Northern Tiger and let me know if you come to this same conclusion. I am currently waiting for them to drill the other targets to get more comparisons on any hits. I am not sure if they are drilling yet, but should be close.
You will have to fool around their website and nr,s and maybe do a google search to gather all the info and piece it together.
