In relation to the wait period for assays, a company could do an on feild metal analysis with one of these guns. Its good for getting quick metal compositions of a drill core. Its not as effective as getting drill core anaylised at the lab,(which is more thorough), where as it only penetrates a few millimeters into the core, BUT, it does show you the percentages and g/t of the metal its aimed at.

I was checking these out at the PDAC, and got a chip sample analysed with one. I was impressed with its abilities and may purchase one in the future.

Anyways, my point being, is that you could be there with this gun scanning the core as it comes out of the ground. But, for the Tesoro, a visable inspection of the core will probably all that is needed. Well, I shoudn,t say that, because at the PDAC I had seen a core section assaying approx 200g/t and you could not see any visable gold in the core. Amazing, huh?
