Mining sector benefits over 8 million Peruvians
-
Lima, Mar. 06 (ANDINA). The mining sector in Peru benefits over eight million people across the country by creating both direct and indirect jobs, the Organizing Committee of the 30th International Mining Conference (Perumin) reported Sunday.
The president of Perunim’s Image and Communications Committee Fernando Cilloniz noted that if Peru would have increased its mineral production in the last two years, the total growth in 2010 would have been 10% instead of 8.78%.
Perunim’s Image and Communications Committee made the official announcement of the contest “Minería: Una oportunidad de desarrollo para el Peru” (Mining: An opportunity for the development of Peru) in order to promote the creativity and professionalism of the students in Peru.
The contest is aimed for students who are in the last semesters of communications, advertising, marketing or any similar major from universities, institutes and professional schools.
The students should present a set of advertising material which helps spreading the importance of the mining sector in Peru in the economic and social development of Peru.
