Keep in mind, the opinions on this site are for the most part speculation and are not necessarily the opinions of the company WITHOUT PREJUDICE
Yes, another interesting question; why wasnt all the unstaked land that we also recently aquired, taken up before? We staked prime land along strike, I made a post here a few months ago, that through my homework, I see no reason why the new property wouldn,t be as valuable as Tesoro. We are definitely along trend and the geographical features, (looked at courtesy of google earth) would suggest they have the same potential as Tesoro.
I still think that Barrick may have interest in us behind the scenes.
I am not sure if there has ever been an offer made on any property that hasn,t had at least some drilling done. An unofficial offer would never become public, in most cases. If there was an official offer, that would be material, and I beleive the company would have 24-48hrs to issue a nr. But things are changing, especially in Merger & Aquisition activity. As a couple of you guys pointed out before, that SPECULATION is playing a big part in the offers that now come from the Majors. Would it really be unlogical to beleive that in the near future, an offer could be made on an undrilled property?
IF, IF, IF, the Tesoro appears very valuable to us on this forum, I would imagine that we are appearing valuable right now in the eyes of MORE than one Major. I dont beleive any Major that had their eyes on us would take a chance on LOSING a chance to make an informal offer before another Major has. Having said that, and keep in mind Lori,s smarts, she could throw out an nr saying that she has had an unofficial offer. At this point in time, with drill permits in hand, could you imagine what that would do to our sp?
Lori would not have to disclose the interested party, just merely say that she has been approached. Once this news hit the wires, it would cause a stir. Fund Managers would probably say, " I havent seen an offer made on an undrilled property before, this is new, maybe I better look into this and see what this company has to make this unique situation arise." After looking at the reports and doing their DD, they see why, and fantastic sp,s start flashing in their heads, temptation overwhelms them, and they start to buy!
So, we could be sitting with an sp around $2.50, when this fantastic nr comes out. We are above the $2 level, that enables some Fund Managers to buy, they realize this stock has the goods and are guessing on a multiple sp, just what they are looking for! The shares of SLI are tightly held, hence, very little people will part with their shares, leaving only the circular trading shares for the fund to accumulate. The sp has to go up and when it reaches that $3 mark, bang! we have just entered another level where our stock is able to be purchased by different fund managers, because they couldn,t buy before under the $3 mark, now they can! The sp rises to $5 in all this frenzy, bang again!!, we have just reached the level whereas MOST,if not ALL managers can buy our stock. Keep in mind, that all these fund managers have done the math and most likely will continue to accumulate up to what they think would be a takeout price for the Tesoro.
Another company that I follow, recently IPO,ed on the TSX at approx $6. They have what I beleive to be 20% of what Tesoro has, their sp the other day hit $11 in less than 2 months. I contribute most of the sp rise to the fact that it IPO,ed over $5 and the SMART fund managers were able to buy it right away. I did quick math on this stock before it IPO,ed and thought it was quite possible for its sp to reach $20-$30 by yearend. I DIDN,T expect it to appreciate this quickly, with maybe $10 coming in the spring. I WAS WRONG! I dont hold any of this stock I am talking about, although I consider it an excellent investment, all my money that is in SLI is staying, I will accumulate more as we go up, because even though I could probably get a double on the other stock, I could possibly get 25 times on SLI by years end.
This is all fantastic on my part, but is it?
