.. whoever has the block at 1.85 is running out of shares for shorting purposes and had to take a few thousand from that ask and put them at 1.79. This looks like a desparate attempt and may be showing that they are running out of fuel, if we were to get up to 1.84/1.85 , I beleive you would see some scrambling and big bids would come in as a last ditch effort to cover the remaining short position. If asks were pulled that didn,t belong to the short, say up to the $2 mark, you would see that gap get covered quickly if the shorts were unable to borrow some more shares to sell.
And, if anyone is buying today or this week, buy into the ask to get rid of that block, it puts more squeeze on the short than just sitting there with a bid in at a lower price.
