Ya, I'm for sure not saying you're wrong, sounds like you did it, but RBC must be a bit different than TD.

I tried today, in both mine & my wifes account, and it said "insufficient funds available", and would not let me carry on. I called a trading rep, and he said for sure I had to have the $5K in there first, which I assumed would then possibly be flagged at sometime, as a "Deliberate Overcontribution" ?

All my other accounts I can put the $ in there 3 days later, but not my TFSA (TD anyway)

I'll go back and review your posts though, to make sure I'm not missing something.
