Keep in mind, the opinions on this site are for the most part speculation and are not necessarily the opinions of the company WITHOUT PREJUDICE
Thanks for your opinion Kherson, and welcome to all newcomers to this site.
Kherson, you wrote:
1)Hello Sculpin. I must admit that I disagree with some of your points. I think that there are two seperate points to what you have posted and one does not really effect the other.
A share split is one thing, having a buyout of the Teroso project and or the complete company, is quite another...
1) yes we are discussing two different things here, but there is a connection . We are an explorer, we dont mine, we prove up resources and sell them to the highest bidder. That is why a stock split in our case is probably not even gonna be considered. The stock split is good for companies that keep growing and adding value. Us, with the Tesoro, is in a slightly different situation where the property may be sold and the proceeds divyed up amongst the shareholders. The fact that a share split in this situation would be worthless says it to me. Now if the company says they are gonna do a share split, then that means to me that they are not gonna try to sell the Tesoro right away and it may take longer for share appreciation. Right now, whats pushing our sp up is the expectations of what we have discovered AND an assumed buyout of Tesoro in the near term.
2)
SLI would determine to split the shares based upon trading volume, valuation, investor requests and overall company performance, both present and future. A share split would not adversily affect present shareholders, in my opinion.
2) i think a share split would adversly effect shareholders in the sense that i refered to above and also in the event we are left with just our other optioned properties and twice the amount of shares in our company . To me, the more shares in a company, the worse it is because you enter volitility with traders and increase the possibility of getting a big guy happy just to turn over a 20% profit and move on.
3)
For someone to be interested in buying some or all of us, as it now stands, that company would make an offer to buy all the shares of SLI at a price consisting of their stock or cash, or a combination of both, or agree to pay SLI outright for the Teroso project. If SLI sold the Teroso project to someone, then it would be up to management as what to do with the proceeds. Of course, the value of the transaction would be reflected in the now higher share price. One also needs to consider the tax implications of any transaction for both SLI and the individual investor. Capital gains as you know, are taxed at a lower rate than dividends.
3)As for this part of your post, the more valuable we become, the more likely that we would have to be bought out by a combination of cash and stock or by 2 or more companies getting together to make a move on us. I beleive that at this very moment, we may be out of reach for any one company to take us over. On the tax implications of a buyout, i think primed is more up to date than me.
Kherson, dont take me wrong here, we are just discussing and exchanging views, so this is how i am thinking. Waiting to enjoy ANY comments in agreement OR disagreement!
