I dont know of any cases where a company has sold off part of their properties but I'm sure its happened numerous times. These partial buy outs can get quite complicated, I would imagine, but hopefully the cash buyout and the dividend check comes to the surface first. I would rather not have a bunch of shares in another company as part or whole payment.
