Having a difficult time regarding

the real meaning behind the trading scenarios that we see. What is actually behind a house buying 1 M shares and then selling 2 M within a short span of time? The same goes for one brokerage house buying a load of shares of a company and another selling a ton of the same stock AND then before the day or week is out the reverse happens with the same companies. It does not always happen where there is a 2-4 cent gain either. At the end of the day after we see 2-5-10 million shares traded the stock may or may not be up or down a couple of pennies and the next day we see only 50 thousand shares traded? Could it just be that filthy rich guys who own a few million shares are simply having some fun playing with a million shares at a 3 cent profit, only to lose it the following week. I AM having a difficult time regarding how all this works AND what on earth it has to do with [if anything] a particular company involved, be it Sage or any other one. Can/would any of you astute businessmen please educate me to the facts of life here?
