I believe I have an answer for you. The main vein splits in two going under the lake as you run NW. So the vein 20m to the west you ask about is a second vein parallel to the first one. Nice eh? They are considered one vein system because 20m is pretty close in mining terms.

If you recall the "spider" reference was because of the spider's nest they disturbed on the site while channel cutting.
