Gold ounces in SGX's Golden Extension
Thanks to Longbomb and red911 for figuring SGX's length of the Golden Mile. I heard ~1.6 km from someone on the ground, and red911 has figured 3.5km, so how about using an average of the two: 2.55 km.
Using that plus my own estimate of an overall average grade of 15g*m (grade in an equivalent 1 meter thick vein) & the 2km rule-of-thumb depth number from KXL's .pdf, you can see that all the units cancel out except ounces of gold:
2550 meters SGX Gold. Extens. length
x 2000 meters depth
x average normalized grade 15 (grams / tonne)*meter
x vein rock density 2.6 tonnes / (meter*meter*meter)
x conversion to troy ounces of 1 ounce/31 grams
x adjustment factor of 0.4 (40% rock efficiently mineable)
= 2.57 million ounces Gold
------------------------------------...
SGX Share Price - Portion based on Golden Extension
2.57 million ounces gold
x price of gold in the ground of $150 / ounce
/ 148,750,000 SGX shares (from: finance.google)
= $2.59 SGX share price for just the Golden Extension
And yes, the grades could get better and the Extension could be longer.
I'd like to see even a better answer as to exact length of the GE. I guess I could do that myself with Photoshop and the lat/long add-on to google earth.
