So I guess that means one of 2 things.

1.) gold in soil is irrelevant and they want to see what's in the rock

2.) they've seen enough and don't need to sample soil anymore.

If they really thought soil sampling was important, they would find a way to do it. I guess stripping as much as possible before the ground freezes in more important. Kind of puts it in perspective
