I communicated with two people who stated that they are from that area and that flooding was a huge part of the problem. They "felt" [they are not qualified road repairers] that the footing should have been better prepared. I am not an engineer but I did write the company about that matter. I took the liberty of making some statements that perhaps were a tad forward but I wanted to squelsh rumors and at the same time try to find out the reason for any so-called "delays". I even mentioned that the old lumber companies had similiar problems and they appeared to be able to overcome the flooding/footing problems fairly quickly because of their scheduling needs, if that was what was involved. Sage's response was that they were working on that challenge and believed they were on target with respect to handling the situation i.e. the footing, etc.
I have to say this guys and gals, I believe that IF there were any delays due to poor footing, I do not think it will happen again. Please let me underscore the word IF because I did not get the impression from the company that they made a mistake in how they should prepare the roads.
Basically I wrote this post because I just wanted to fill you in as to the fact that the company has had a number of people working on a challenging situation at that location and also to attempt to continue to do on-going DD. With juniors, there will always be dilemmas and needs of some sort. Basically it goes with the turf.
Best wishes,
