Focused on becoming a near-term Gold Producer
longbomb great question.
One problem (well not so much a problem, more of a frustration) I have with SGX right now is not knowing exactly where the the drill holes are. I have said this before. I trust this will be addressed when the new website is launched. IMO detailed drill hole maps are required. For example, within 1-2 days of KXL results being released, the website is updated with a map indicating where the holes are. Visuals are great IMO.
In the Jacobus release this week, the only Au values they report were...
"In hole SJ07-17 the gold horizon returned 0.20 m grading 0.06 gram of gold per tonne gold (g Au/T)."
"SJ07-38 also contained 0.031 gram of Pt per tonne and 0.008 gram of Pd per tonne and 0.091 g Au/T."
"Within this interval were three stratigraphic horizons with elevated gold content. The highest grade within the interval returned 0.222 g Au/T over 0.3 metre."
Not very good grades, right? But, this is in fact GREAT news for those who actually take the time to figure out where these holes are and realize that they do not appear to be a test of the gold zone that was encountered in the previous drill program. For example, the only decent updated drill hole map I can find is contained in the December 2007 presentation, Page 8. By blowing up this low resolution .pdf I can 'kinda' see that the two holes with reported Au mineralization thus far (i.e. SJ07-17 and SJ07-38) appear to be nowhere near hole SJ07-07 that orignially reported 15.15 g/t Au over 0.73m (July 24, 2007).
Now we are also told... "The gold horizon reported from overlying volcanics was intercepted in several holes." and that... "Gold assays from the other holes that intercepted this horizon are pending." This is a very nice hint and great news for those who actually bother to check out where the holes are who know the reported values are not from the holes 'that everyone is waiting for'.
My point... let's get some updated drill hole maps. I am sure this is being done and like I said I am sure this will be addressed with the new website. Everything cannot happen at once and we are moving forward at a more than reasonable pace IMO. It's all part of the process. Great work, keep it up!
Looking forward to the new website. Also looking forward to additional Jacobus results pending. IMO the best is yet to come.
