Tis The Season

The reason for the sell off and such is that it is simply cyclical. We have the the follow factors (not limited to):

  • Sub-prime problems with all banks involved.
  • reporting season for blue chips.
  • recession looming.
  • gold at high levels.
  • oil at high levels.
  • lots of bankruptcies.
  • Market makers.
  • Human nature fear and greed.

These and more assist in creating some of what we see in the market today.

If history is any indicator Sage will rebound based on it's fundamentals and obvious good news.

Someone said people exercising warrants at a higher price and buying back in lower are causing this downward pressure.

I don't get that.

I may be wrong. I have warrant for another venture. I am led to believe by the company and my broker that if the share price. Say was a $1 and I decide to exercise my 10,000 warrant that are about to expire Jan 20th at a price of 50 cent. If I wanted the cash I call the broker and say excercise the warrants for cash. The warrants are bought from the issuing company and put on the market to be sold. I get to keep the difference between the price bought and sold at lets say 50 cents profit/ warrant less brokerage fee's.

Why on earth would any one exercise 50 cent warrants when share price is 30 cents. Said person would just buy the shares they want, on the open market at a 40% discount of the warrant price. The warrants would expire without being excercised. The issuing company wouldn't get any revenue from warrants pure and simple.

Time will tell, as always.
