Regarding 'halts'

Halts  usually occur for one of two reasons.  It's either good news or bad news.  Judging by recent events [KXL] the halt did not result in any immediate benefit regarding the company's share price. Perhaps, and I am not a strategy guy, it would have been better to surprise all concerned with that very good building block news release rather than trying to build up suspense by calling for a halt.

Even with the good news release SGX just issued, [without a halt] we have not seen the 'desired' effect. I put quotes around the word desired because that is a subjective word when it comes to shareholders expectations.

What can we say when we see a stock halted and come out with a solid news release and then go way down on relatively low volume, as with [KXL] and then see SGX only go down a couple of pennies on high volume. Today, IMO, we had a very nice NR and so far with regard to the SP it translates into zippo. I personally believe that todays release at the bare minimum shows a company growing slowly and steadily.

If halts followed by great news releases by one company and solid news releases by another company do not guarantee a positive increase in the SP, then what does drive the market. Well there may be numerous reasons for the above but may I strongly suggest that we also include the human factor in our reasonings. The two philisophical ingredients that play a MAJOR factor in the markets and ESPECIALLY with the penny plays are the emotoins known as FEAR  GREED AND IMPATIENCE.  Period.

I know that just about all of us realize that the above is true, so then why do we take the same bait over and over again and let those factors rule our lives and investment lives? The reason is because we are humans and inspite of our patting ourselves on the back we very much are vunerable. That is why we can't sit still and let these companies in which we reportedly have done our DD on, do their thing.

Best wishes,

Jerry Francis
