Should have looked a little further before my last post. There is a geology map in the last 43-101 [page 78] that shows several intrusives east of the Garden Fault. The closest deposit is the 'Tibicmconi Batholith that is present alone the eastern claim boundary some 3 to 4 km east of the Garden Fault. A larger surface exposure batholith is found further to the NE, one to the SE and several south of Val d'Or. The subsurface extension of these igneous bodies could extend well beyond their mapped surface outline. From this it is possible that the Tibicmconi Batholith could extend much closer to the mapped Garden Fault. There was no obvious legend with this map so do not know if the batholith is granitic or not, could be anything from a granite to gabbro or ultramafic but since it was a different color than that of the Boulamaque Batholith I suspect it could be more towards the mafic end. This could be the heat source for the alteration, surface clays and hopefully the hydrothermal fluids carried gold. 

Regarding the use of surface waters to project subsurface bedrock structures one would have to have several streams that have a similar azimuth. As an example Google Earth 'Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick' several streams flow south-southwest and parallel a major bedrock fault through the eastern part of the island. A dead give away to one or more faults that have not been mapped.
