Below is a linked relative strength chart in Canadian funds of GoldCorp to US. gold. The chart clearly tells the story of GoldCorp making new high recoveries in relative strength. Odd, from my perspective the gold shares appear to want to turn lower joining gold's weakness BUT not quite yet. IMO retail continues to sell their Probe shares with no apparent big buyer around which would indicate the GoldCorp's deal could very well go through if enough yes votes get tallied.

It would really puzzle me if the gold shares continue generally firmer against a declining gold price. Overall, the general averages are gaining more and more short term technical weaknesses. Are the gold shares better acting than gold becaise of the growing fear that government is increasingly interested in who is holding gold? The State of Minnesota wants records kept of purchases of items containing gold in them as low as 1%. What's this all about? Electronic money keeps gaining with less and less currency transactions. Martin Armstrong says people are starting to hoard cash. Getting off the grid by buying gold shares, aside from the metal looking lower, would appear a place to store your wealth and the fact that GoldCorp pays a monthly dividend is enticing. Things they are a changing.
