Interesting that you mentioned directional drilling. Several months back I mentioned this to Dave via IR, but there have been no beep coming back. For some reasons, Dave seems to prefer "fan drilling" and did no pay much attention to the Devico multi-directional method which I posted yesterday on NOT board, link below. As indicated, KWG/BOL has used this to drill at Koper Lake JV with FNC.
In my opinion, if PRB does not have enough toehold for moving the drill around (I believe they are drilling from the north shore), then keeping the drill location and "steered" the drill bit for drilling in difference directions would be less time consuming and cheaper (plus no need to seal the hole when you move the drill to another spot...only need to seal it once after drilling has finished). It is understood that those multi-directional drills are capable of very deep/long drilling.
Instead of the north shore, another option would be to put the drill on the larger island near the Narrows or drilling from a barge. But again, no beep coming back from PRB.
Perhaps, someone may want to start a dialogue with our Chief Geo, by phone, to break this silence?
