- The NR says: "Drill crews are mobilizing today to commence the 2014 drilling program at Borden, which will be supported by four drills. The program will be focused on the HGZ, and particularly its expansion along strike. Weather conditions appear favourable for a successful winter program."

- Rumours say: Drilling on land starts today. Drilling on ice would depend on the weather, but "weather conditions appear favourable" the NR says. This could start very soon. The crystal ball says within the next 1 to 2 weeks.

- Speculation for discussions: Unless the drilling is done on land somewhere along the strike on PRB claims on the other side of the lake, the eastern most location on land would be at 2000SE (can't go any further since it would hit water), unless they can extend a bit further, say by another 100m to the East (along the string of existing drill holes on land) since the ice could be thicker near the shore?

Anyone here know how many metres can the drillers do per day? Or, how long would it take to drill 100m of rock, a few days? I am trying to figure out if there is any gain by drilling from the shore (of course they can drill/fan out in a different direction to explore the potention expansion of the deposit, especially if they have long drills), or just wait for a few days for thicker ice in the middle portion of the lake. The first 100m, or so, would be fast (I assume) since "drilling" would be through water. Drillers just keep adding pipes until the drill bit hits the lake bottom. Anyone here can give a short tutorial on drilling for non-experts?
