They have 50% of the gold oz. that Probe has
GCU has a 25% higher grade
It depends on what scenerio Probe is gonna choose. GCU got 5,1 mio ounces @ about 1,07 g/t. In order to reduce capex and get better economic numbers they decided on focusing higher grade zones. So still lots of expanding potential.
Probe is probably gonna choose a higher grade scenario as well (2,4 mio oz @ 1,66g/t).
GCU has a unfavorable strip ratio, Probe will have 1:3 or 1:4
Thats not true. GCU got a pretty low strip ratio at 1.7:1.Even though there is a pretty low strip ratio the opex is pretty high due to high minig costs and not that good recovery rates. Imo Probe is gonna have a much higher strip ratio, more like 6:1 - 8:1. PEA is gonna tell.
Anyway, there were lots of concerns to capex. Taking into account the lake issue and that the deposit is kind of in the middle of nowhere ( about 100km from red lake), capex seems to be pretty good. So Probe should be way below thoses numbers.
Imo Probe's PEA is gonna be great. Any new information about the release? I tried to contact Dave but was not successful.
