"In October, Agnico had to write off its investment in its Goldex property in Quebec, which was shut because of safety reasons. The company is developing two zones around the mine for production, M and E, which are expected to come online in 2014.
Boyd said activity (in) the GEZ zone in Goldex will remain suspended. Since its closure there has been no sign of subsidence, or sinking. “It’s full, it’s stable…. We put cameras down there, it’s full of broken muck and there’s no sign of caving,” he said.
