Interesting that you should mention this. The Mayan Calendar ends at the end of the third week in December of this year. This marks the closest distance of the Milky Way to our solar system when the earth's axis could change or reverse.

This is a normal cycle in earth's history as it is believed to have happened 240 times before. If it does change there could be a jerk or a smooth transition. It there is a jerk, the waters of the ocean could spash around causing coastal areas to possibly experience tidal waves. This is all supposition, of course. The cycle is 20 years in length and we are about at midpoint with just some increase in the world's earthquakes. The 9.1 earthquake in Japan tilted earth on its axis by 4% which certainly effected local weather patterns as we have been witnessing down here in the mid-west.

There are unproven extremists that call for more dire results from projected possible earth changes. One person calls for monstrous tidal waves that could effect 25% of earth's inhabitants living within a 100 miles of the coastline. Another person says Reno, Nevada is a safe place but who knows about these guys because we know so little of earth's past.

Martin Armstrong has a report coming out in September dealing with times(cycles) of the earth. In it, I suspect, will be the most comprehensive study ever done concerning what the Mayans learned and what they didn't understand. I would sort of believe that a lot of this sensationalism in possible earth changes is a bunch of hooey but I will be on high ground in the months of October, November and December, anyway.
