Where's the beef? Some weeks back when the gold market got shaken up with the manipulation of gold by the central banks and the Treasury, gold mining companies reported contact with buyers coming directly to them for product because of skimpy offering in the market. Could it be that all the crosses lately were one or two serious buyers? If anyone wanted to take on a big position in Probe's shares and they were unavailable up the book, wouldn't they attempt to speak directly to the folks who might have the shares on deposit at the brokerage firms?

As for those block sellers, maybe they were just cutting back on positions because their valuations were out-of-balance for the maximum percentage allowed under their investment strategy for one stock. Can't see how a naked shorter has much room for profit on this one.
