Taylor says buy Richfield Ventures
2010-08-20 19:09 ET - In the News
Jay Taylor in the Aug. 16, 2010, edition of Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks tells readers to buy Richfield Ventures Corp., recently $1.46. This is the first time he has recommended the stock. Mr. Taylor suspects that there is a multimillion-ounce gold deposit at the Blackwater project in British Columbia. Richfield has an option to earn a 75-per-cent interest in this project.
The company is still in the process of writing up an NI 43-101-compliant resource report, but it has sampled long intervals of low-grade gold, enough to make the project economically viable. Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon Ltd. has estimated that Blackwater contains 4.25 million ounces of gold and that it could generate $105-million annually from operations.
An open-pit mine would keep costs down, and the operation could break even in two years; mine life is expected to be 10 years. Mr. Taylor notes that financing, inflation and foreign currency risks exist, but he is confident with the stock overall. He says that Richfield's president, Peter Bernier, has led the prospecting and acquisition of five other grassroots properties that could prove valuable to the company and its shareholders later on.
